I knew I loved Nicole Miller! I wore her at my wedding ceremony and love what she's up to now. For those of you who don't know me personally, I have always had an affinity for Africa - I traveled to Ghana twice to volunteer, chose to honeymoon in South Africa and have plans to volunteer in Kenya next.
Nicole Miller recently partnered up with Indego Africa on a limited line of clothing and accessories. These textiles are true to so many parts of Africa as all of the women wear these colorful fabrics from head to toe. I love and support anything that helps empower the people of Africa and this mission, in particular benefits the women of Rwanda. 15% of proceeds will be donated to Indego Africa and to the women who crafted these festive pieces.
Ok the cut of the wrap skirts below remind me of something I wore (and regret) in 7th grade. However, that is how they wear them in Africa (usually longer) and I do think these could look cute as a cover-up over a bikini or during the day with a little white tee.
Somewhat blurry, living proof...

* If you are interested in reading an incredible book regarding the genocide in Rwanda, let me recommend Left to Tell, by Immaculee Ilibagiza. It is not a light read by any means but an incredible story of courage, patience, strength and ultimately, forgiveness. *
